About Jersey

The Island of Jersey may not be at the heart of your festival season, but that may be because you are not yet familiar with the Festivals that Jersey has to offer. So here we present you with a list of the main Jersey Festivals.

15th February to 27th March: Spring Specials
A culinary event, in which over half of the restaurants on the island create special menus to show off their skills in the kitchen.

8th to 14th March: Textile Showcase
A festival showcasing textiles both historical and modern, drawing skilled artisans from the UK, the Channel Islands and France.

27th to 28th March: Spring Flower Show
Held by the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society, this show features numerous displays, demonstrations and competitions.

25th to 26th April: Tour de Bretagne
The 44th annual Tour will see hundreds of professional cyclists and numerous teams (including the British National squad) competing in this fascinating sporting event.

1st to 3rd May: Jersey Boat Show
A major event in the British boating calendar, expected to attract thousands of visitors and one of the first shows of the boating season. Taking place in St. Helier, it will feature power, sail and side by side.

9th May: Liberation Day
A celebration of the liberation of Jersey from the cruel bonds of Nazi occupation during the Second World War. A number of events are planned, including heritage trails, commemorative services and access to wartime installations.

15th May to 22nd May: Spring Walking Week
A chance to explore Jersey and its beautiful landscapes, on a number of free guided walks. Suitable for all the family.

4th to 6th June: The Credit Suisse Jersey International Motoring Festival
Showcasing Jersey's place in motor sports history, featuring various activities, it's a chance for motoring enthusiasts and interested spectators to come and appreciate some automotive legends in action.

12th to 27th June: June in Bloom Floral Festival
Another inspiring week and a half for horticulturists or anyone who appreciates beauty, full to the brim of open gardens, demonstrations, flower shows and guided walks.

12th to 13th June: Foire de Jersey
An unforgettable country fayre, featuring shows, ring events, food tasting, traditional games, floral displays and competitions.

26th June: Bonne Nuit Harbour Festival
Bidding farewell to the June in Bloom Festival, set in a picturesque bay on the north side of the island, with stalls and activities for young and old alike. Food and refreshments will be available all day and the live music will be playing until the dead of night.

10th to 11th July: West Show
A bi-annual country show in the Parish of St. Peter, featuring country activities and games, as well as showcasing the ever-famous Jersey Cow.

18th July: St. Helier Pilgrimage
A Jersey tradition, in which you will visit Elizabeth Castle and the Hermitage and learn about the patron Saint of the island. It is fascinating and, best of all, free.

12th August: Battle of Flowers Grand Day Parade
One of the largest and most impressive carnivals in Europe. Floats, musicians, dancers and entertainers fill the streets of the island for one of the largest summer events.

13th August: Battle of Flowers Moonlight Parade
An illuminated parade of the floats and the grand finale of the Battle of Flowers Festival.

19th August: Gorey Fête
Held in the beautiful Gorey Harbour, there will be beach events, drinking and food all day long.

September: Jersey Live Festival
An indie music festival and a quickly growing sensation. Specifically pointed out for its good looking and responsive crowds, big names are to be expected. Previous years have seen Basement Jaxx, Kasabian, Snow Patrol, The Fratellis, the Zutons, Razorlight and the Prodigy, to name but a few of the acts.

9th September: International Air Display
In one of the largest free air displays in Europe, pilots from all over the world will be showing people just what they can do.

11th to 18th September: Autumn Walking Week
For a week, Jersey opens up its roads and byways with a full and free programme of walks, all professionally guided, including the popular Around Island Walk.

9th to 10th October: Autumn Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Show
The Royal Jersey Horticultural Society's other big show of the year, in which all kinds of fruits and vegetables will be showcased in surprisingly creative ways.

16th to 17th October: La Faîs'sie d'Cidre, Cider Festival
An absolutely delicious festival which celebrates the best ciders of today and yesteryear. It is held annually at Hamptonne, with a number of activities and tastings, which will guarantee you leave with a new appreciation of just how wonderful apples are.

21st to 23rd October: Black Butter Making
Learn about the history and tradition of Black Butter making, created from Jersey's own apple harvest and what it is used in nowadays.

25th November to 12th December: La Fête dé Noué
Bringing the tourist year to a close, this festival is full of activities and lights, street entertainment, guided walks, traditional markets, street theatre, parades, carol concerts and - in general - a warm and welcome feeling.
